PP cotton (polypropylene cotton) is a material that feels and functions like regular cotton, but with better durability and the ability to retain its shape over time. It is specially designed to provide a soft and comfortable sleeping surface, while being hypoallergenic, lightweight, easy to clean and stays fluffy longer than traditional cotton. These properties make it the perfect material for dog beds.
What are foam chips and why have you included them in the XL and XXL sizes?
Foam chips are small, soft and flexible pieces of foam rubber that provide extra support and stability. They are used in our XL and XXL models to ensure that even heavy dogs get the support they need without the bed collapsing.
Most dog beds for large and heavy dogs are either too hard or lose their shape quickly, making them uncomfortable. By combining PP cotton and foam chips, we have created a bed that is both soft and supportive, so your dog can enjoy optimal comfort without compromising on stability.

CalmBed differs from other dog beds in that we only use soft pp cotton as filling. Many other dog beds use a harder type of filling, which does not make the bed as comfortable at all. We also use approximately 60% more filling in our beds compared to our competitors. CalmBed is also designed with a removable and machine washable cover, which makes it easy to keep the bed clean and fresh.
Yes, CalmBed consists of two parts: a removable cover and inner cushions.
The cover can be easily washed in a washing machine at 40 degrees and should then be hung to dry.
We recommend that the inner cushions are only washed when absolutely necessary, for example if your dog has had an accident in the bed. Otherwise, we advise against washing them. If washing is necessary, you should hand wash the inner cushions and make sure they are hung to dry.
We recommend that you measure the length of your dog from nose to tail and then choose a bed that is 20cm larger than that. For example, if your dog is 75cm tall, we recommend that you purchase our XL CalmBed which is 100cm in diameter.
